Awaited Bollywood films of 2021:- As the cinemas remained closed for the better part of the year in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many big-ticket movies are pending release. So Many movies are either shelved or their released dates were pushed.
These are the movies that are expected to break the dry spell and bring cheers to the industry in 2021.
1. Awaited Bollywood films of 2021 – 83

83 is an upcoming Indian sports drama film directed by Kabir Khan and jointly produced by Khan, Vishnu Vardhan Induri, Deepika Padukone, and Sajid Nadiadwala.
Co-distributed by Reliance Entertainment, the film stars Ranveer Singh as cricketer Kapil Dev, along with Deepika Padukone, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Jiiva, Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani, Nishant Dahiya, Sahil Khattar, and Amrita Puri.
In September 2017, Reliance Entertainment and Vibri Media hosted an event to announce the film with the team that had won the 1983 World Cup.
The shooting began on 5 June 2019 in England. Earlier scheduled for theatrical release on 10 April 2020, 83 was pushed to Christmas 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India.
However, in November 2020, the film was again postponed to March of 2021 by makers seeing the worse occupancy report of audience towards theatres owing to the continuity of pandemic.

Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai is an upcoming Indian action film directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, and Atul Agnihotri. The film stars Salman Khan, Megha Akash Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda, and Jackie Shroff.
The film was officially announced on 18 October 2019. The film’s principal photography began on 1 November 2019 in Lonavala.
The film was slated to release on 22 May 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This film is a remake of the South Korean film Veteran. The film was wrapped up on 14 October 2020.

Laal Singh Chaddha is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by Advait Chandan with production by Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom18 Studios.
An adaptation of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump, which itself based on Winston Groom’s 1986 novel of the same name, the film stars Aamir Khan in the titular role with Kareena Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi (his Bollywood debut), and Mona Singh.
The adaptation of Forrest Gump, underwent a series of changes for two decades, with Atul Kulkarni spent ten years adapting the script, and another ten years purchasing the remake rights.
Aamir Khan who bought the rights of the film in early 2018, announced the film officially on 14 March 2019, with its title. The film’s score and soundtrack were composed by Pritam with lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, whilst the film’s cinematography and editing were handled by Setu and Manik Dawar respectively.
Laal Singh Chaddha has been filmed in more than 100 Indian locations. The film’s principal photography took place in Chandigarh on 31 October 2019.
However, production was halted in March 2020 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic in India before resuming during mid-September 2020 in Delhi, due to which, the film initially scheduled for Christmas 2020 release was delayed by an entire year. The movie is now scheduled for release during Christmas 2021.

Brahmāstra: Part One of Three, also known as Brahmāstra, is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language action fantasy film written and directed by Ayan Mukerji, and produced by Karan Johar. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni in pivotal roles and will serve as the first film in a planned trilogy.
Principal photography began in Bulgaria in February 2018 and the film is scheduled for release in standard formats, 3D, and IMAX.

Sooryavanshi is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Rohit Shetty, written by Yunus Sajawal, Farhad Samji, Sanchit Bendre and Vidhi Ghodgadnkar based on an original story by Shetty, and produced by Shetty in association with Hiroo Yash Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta under the Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films banners.
The fourth installment of Shetty’s Cop Universe, it features Akshay Kumar as the titular character opposite Katrina Kaif. Gulshan Grover, Abhimanyu Singh, Niharica Raizada, Jackie Shroff, Sikandar Kher, Nikitin Dheer, Vivan Bhatena, and Javed Jaffrey star in supporting roles, while Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh reprise their roles of Singham and Simmba from the franchise’s previous films.
Kumar’s character was announced towards the end of Simmba that served as a character introduction of Sooryavanshi. He is playing DCP Veer Sooryavanshi, the chief of the Anti-Terrorism Squad.
Principal photography began in May 2019 and completed in November 2019. Initially released on 24 March 2020, Sooryavanshi was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India.

Maidaan (transl. Field) is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language biographical sports film based on the golden era of Indian football (1952–62) and starring Ajay Devgn as football coach Syed Abdul Rahim.
Maidaan is directed by Amit Sharma and produced by Zee Studios in collaboration with Bayview Projects LLP.
Shooting commenced on 19 August 2019, and the film is scheduled for worldwide release in theatres on 15 October 2021, coinciding with the Dussehra weekend.

Jersey is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language sports drama film directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, a remake of his 2019 Telugu film of the same title.
It stars Shahid Kapoor as a cricketer portrayed by Nani in the original version, besides Mrunal Thakur, Pankaj Kapur, and an ensemble cast. The film is presented by Allu Aravind and produced by Aman Gill, Dil Raju.
The official announcement for the film was made in October 2019 and principal photography commenced in Chandigarh on 13 December 2019.
It was scheduled to be theatrically released on 28 August 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic delayed production. The film was wrapped up on 14 December 2020.

Bell Bottom is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language spy thriller film directed by Ranjit M Tewari. The film is written by Aseem Arora and Parveez Sheikh, with production by Pooja Entertainment and Emmay Entertainment.
It stars Akshay Kumar as the lead character, with Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta, and Huma Qureshi in other prominent roles. Principal photography began on 20 August 2020.
The film was wrapped up on 30 September 2020 and is scheduled to be released on 2 April 2021.

Satyameva Jayate 2 is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language vigilante action film serving as a sequel to the 2018 film Satyameva Jayate and based on the fight against injustice & misuse of power.
Directed by Milap Zaveri and produced by T-Series in collaboration with Emmay Entertainment, Satyameva Jayate 2 features John Abraham reprising his role of Virendra Rathod with Divya Khosla Kumar portraying the new female lead and has been scheduled to be theatrically released on 12 May 2021, coinciding with Eid.
