New Working Hours in UAE from 2022
This is great news for UAE employees. UAE government announced New Working Hours from 2022. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Abu Dhabi Media Office said that a four and a half-day working week will be implemented from next year, with the weekend moved to Saturday-Sunday and a half-day on Friday in the emirate.
The decision comes in line with the UAE’s vision to enhance its global competitiveness across economic and business sectors, and to keep pace with global developments.
Here are the some important point relating to the new working hours.
Official working hours in government entities will be from 7.30 am to 3.30 pm, Monday to Thursday, with regular flexible timings remaining applicable, and from 7.30 am to 12.00 pm on Friday.
Mosques in the UAE will host Friday sermons and prayers after 1.15 pm throughout the year. This will come into effect from January 1, 2022.
Schools and universities across the UAE will follow the new four-and-a-half-day work week. This means that students, too, would get two-and-a-half days off every week, starting from January 1, 2022.
Note:- All Federal government departments will move to the new weekend from January 1, 2022.
