1. New Mahindra XUV500

The new Mahindra XUV500 will get a Mercedes-Benz style large, single-unit display with split screens for the touchscreen infotainment system and the instrument cluster.
The upcoming next-generation Mahindra XUV500 has been spotted testing in India again, and this time around we get a glimpse of the SUV’s new digital instrument cluster.
Some of the earlier spy photos had revealed that the new XUV500 will get a Mercedes-Benz style large, single-unit display with split screens for the touchscreen infotainment system and the instrument cluster. In fact, the display on the new Mahindra XUV500 is expected to be wider than the 12.25-inch unit on Mercedes-Benz models.
The unit is expected to offer a tonne of extra information like tyre pressure, distance to empty, and maybe even maps.
In these latest images, we also get to see the new multi-functional flat-bottom steering wheel of the new Mahindra XUV500. Additionally, based on previous spy photos, we know that the new-gen model will come with a dual-tone cabin with heavy use of beige, along with a new centre console with cup holders, a rotary dial, which appears to be for the infotainment system, and electronic parking brakes.
This particular test mule comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Of course, it will continue to be a 7-seater SUV but might even get optional captain seats for the second row.
On the outside, the next-gen Mahindra XUV500 will get a more upright design for the front with a visibly larger grille that will sport the traditional vertical slats, but the big takeaway is the larger headlamp cluster. It will come with larger, double barrel headlamps with a stylish new signature pattern that will form a boomerang shape extending down to the bumper.
Also, the cheetah-inspired XUV500 will no longer get that signature paw-like door handles, instead, the SUV will come with new flush-fitting door handles. It will also get new bumpers, sportier alloy wheels, and new LED taillamps at the rear. In fact, they will be horizontal units unlike the vertically stacked ones on the current model.
Powertrain wise, the next-gen Mahindra XUV500 will come with a new 2.0-liter diesel engine that the carmaker has been working on, along with Mahindra’s new 2.0-liter medallion turbocharged petrol engine that offers 187 bhp and 380 Nm of peak torque.
This will make the new XUV500 the most powerful one yet. Both the diesel and petrol engines are likely to be offered in manual and automatic options. Some spy photos also reveal that the SUV will get an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
2. Mahindra eKUV100

The Mahindra eXUV300 is the all-electric version of the carmaker’s popular subcompact SUV, the XUV300. The Mahindra eXUV300 concept made its global debut at the Auto Expo 2020, and it is set to become the company’s first electric SUV from the home-grown automaker, after the eKUV100.
The XUV300 electric comes with an electric motor, powered by a Lithium-Ion battery, driving the front wheels of the SUV. The eXUV300 is based in the company’s new electric powertrain platform that will also be used by SsangYong in the European Markets.
The Mahindra eXUV300 showcased at the Auto Expo is powered by a 40 kWh Lithium-Ion battery pack which is capable of delivering a range of more than 300 km on a single charge.
However, the company plans to bring in two variants of the electric SUV – a standard variant with a range of 250-300 km and long-range model with more power and a larger battery that will offer a range of 350-400 km on a single charge.
The eXUV300 will be the first product with battery cells developed by LG Chem that has been working with Mahindra in the field of advanced lithium-ion battery technology.
Visually, the new Mahindra eXUV300 looks similar to the subcompact SUV that is currently on sale in the country. However, it gets the new Mahindra Electric grille with the X motif that will remain standard across all the electric cars we will see from the brand in the future.
However, we expect to see several changes in the final production model. Mahindra has plans to launch the eXUV300 by 2021, and upon launch, it will compete with the likes of the Tata Nexon EV.
3. Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine

Mercedes-Benz India will soon launch the A-Class Limousine and the company has already kick-started bookings in the country. Apart from the new-generation A-Class range, the new sedan version is positioned below the Mercedes-Benz CLA, is currently the most affordable three-pointed star sedan globally.
The A-Class Limousine will be available in 3 variants. There’ll be a petrol, diesel and an AMG variant on offer. The booking amount for the car has been set at Rs 2 lakh.
The front sees sharp-looking LED headlamps with eyebrow-like LED daytime running lamps. The Mercedes-Benz A-Class also comes with a set of sporty twin-5-spoke alloy wheels (in sizes 16 to 19 inches), new sleeker ORVMs with integrated LED turn signal lights, a bold waistline, blackened B-pillar, and a sloping roofline.
The four-door notchback has the wheelbase of the hatchback (2729 millimetres) as well as the proportions of a compact saloon with short overhangs at the front and rear.
The A-Class sedan’s cabin is largely identical to its hatchback counterpart with a well-equipped dashboard larger fully-digital instrument cluster paired with a fully-digital infotainment system.
The dashboard also features the signature rotor-like chrome air-con vents, a multi-functional new steering wheel, and a smart-looking centre console in piano black finish.
The car will also get the MBUX multimedia system – Mercedes-Benz User Experience – with artificial intelligence, which made its debut in India with the new-gen GLE, which is also here on display.
The system comes with features like – Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with wireless charging areas for your smartphone. Powertrain wise, the A-Class will come with a pair of 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine and both are BS6 compliant.
4. Renault Kiger

Renault is all-set to take the wraps off its first ever subcompact SUV in India this month, on January 28 and we almost saw it coming after its sister model- the Nissan Magnite went on sale in December 2020. It goes without saying that the new Renault Kiger will share a lot with the Magnite, starting with the platform and the powertrain line-up and then the feature list which we expect to be carried over quite extensively.
So expect to see upmarket features like wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, wireless phone charger, a sunroof and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system among others.
So the Renault Kiger will be the CMF-A+ platform which also underpins the Renault Triber MPV and of course the recently launched Nissan Magnate. Renault had already previewed the SUV with the Kiger concept, and the company had also confirmed that nearly 80 percent of the production-spec model will be identical to the concept car. Also, the Kiger too will be heavily localized so we also expect the pricing to be really aggressive and undercutting the competition by a good margin, just the way Magnite did.
That said, the upcoming Kiger will have its own design language that primarily will give it its own identity. Going by what we have collected from those numerous spy pictures that have surfaced online, just like the 2019 Kwid facelift, up front there will be a split headlight setup with indicator/ DRLs positioned above, while the main headlight units positioned below, closer to the bumper.
The headlight assembly will sport tri-beam projector lights, while the bumper will house a wide airdam and underbody cladding. The rear section on the other hand, is expected to be a bit similar to the Magnite and we won’t actually be surprised if it may look like an elder sibling to the entry-level Renault Kwid.
Under the hood, the upcoming Renault Kiger is likely to feature a pair of petrol engines – the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that powers the Renault Triber, and the new Magnite sourced 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbo petrol engine, which was introduced at the Auto Expo 2020. While both will come with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard, the latter will also get an option CVT automatic unit.
5. Renault K-ZE
Expected Price:- Rs. 10 – 12 Lakh

Renault K-ZE is essentially the production version of the Kwid EV, which was revealed at this year’s Auto Expo in February. Before making its India debut, the car was initially revealed at the 2019 Shanghai Motor Show in China. The new K-ZE is based on the Kwid’s CMF-A platform. Though the electric version is limited to the Chinese market, it is being evaluated for the other global markets like European. However, the carmaker won’t be launching the EV there any time before 2021.
When compared to the regular Renault Kwid, the City K-ZE electric car undergoes some changes to the underpinnings for housing an electric motor as well as the battery packs. The electric hatch gets a 33-kW motor that is tuned to produce 120 Nm of peak torque. The carmaker also claims that the car can be charged via a standard 220V charging port as well as plug charging points.
The City K-ZE EV can be charged up to 80 percent in just 50 minutes by employing fast charging mode. On the other hand, the slow charging mode will take at least four hours to fully charge the batteries. The company also claims that the estimated range of the EV is around 240 km when fully charged.
Aesthetically, the Renault City K-ZE is very similar to the Kwid small car. And, it also borrows several elements from the concept version. The company has slightly tweaked the grille sporting a large diamond logo at the front. Further complementing the design are sleek yet sharp LED headlamps. The Kwid EV also uses the split headlamp design which has become very popular. The profile of the SUV is highlighted by elegantly styled alloy wheels. The City K-ZE is offered a lower ground clearance of 150 mm in comparison to the standard Indian version.
As far as the interiors are concerned, the cabin of the K-ZE EV is very identical to the India-spec Kwid. It comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 4G internet with navigation and voice control. The overall layout of the cabin also remains the same. However, the K-ZE gets the drive selector between the front seats instead of the centre console, which seen on the AMT version of the Kwid.
