Manchu Vishu Vardhan Babu was born on 23 November 1981 in Madras, Tamil Nadu, India. His father Mohan Babu was a veteran actor. He completed their schooling at the Padmaseshadri Bala Bhavan School.
After completing their schooling he went on to take an engineering degree from Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College. During their college time, he represented the Bhaskar JNTU cricket team.
Manchu had a brief stint as a child artist with the 1985 film Ragile Gundelu. He started their career in 2003 from the Telugu action film Vishnu. He won the Filmfare Best Male Debut award because of this film. He is charging Rs. 3 to 7 Crores per film on average.
